We Did It!

Our successful advocacy and legislative push secured reapproval of the SDP in 2025, ensuring that vital research funding continues. The program’s renewal (initially through a short-term spending bill) keeps federal T1D research moving forward while Congress works toward a longer-term authorization. Breakthrough T1D and its advocates have hailed the extension as a key victory and continue to urge lawmakers to finalize a multi-year renewal so that progress toward cures can accelerate without interruption.
